“Don’t worry, be happy.” Good morning, teachers and students. Look at the people around you, have you seen them tap their hands or legs and blink more often? I bet you recognise when your friends are anxious, perhaps biting the fingernails. In the rush of our modern world today, we are not always stress-free. When anxiety reaches to a severe level, it can damage the students’ well-being. This is defined as an anxiety disorder, which is one of the most common mental problems that comprises social phobia, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and so on. They may result in panic attacks and depression. Australian Bureau of Statistic reported, “one in six young Australians are currently experiencing anxiety conditions.” Despite this is treatable, very few people seek help. We certainly should be more aware of our mental well-being as it acts on every stage of our lives, so today I want you to understand what causes anxiety, the way our body reacts to it and find a way to recover your mental health from anxiety disorder immediately. …show more content…
Some types of people are more susceptible to anxiety disorders, such as perfectionists, and those with low self-esteem. Of course, sufferers can also be affected by traumatic events or stressful situations such as being bullied or doing the HSC exams. Normal anxiety is where you feel a bit of nervous and concerned. At this moment, I am a great example of feeling normal anxiety, standing in front of you and presenting this speech.
