Anxiety Informative Speech

I've been very open about it in the past but in case you missed it, I struggle with anxiety. If you have ever read any kind of blog or article about Christians with anxiety than you know that our issue is often overlooked, misunderstood, and at times counted as sin. However, with more people being diagnosed with anxiety, it shouldn't be ignored anymore. I know many people care about mental health but they may not know how to offer support to those dealing with it. Don't fret, I'm here to share with you a few basic ways that you can love and care for your anxiety-ridden friends and family.

1. Give us the Gospel.

We need you to preach hope. I guarantee it goes beyond us. There are visitors that will walk in your doors and I promise you if they're a millennial, statistics show that they probably suffer too. If you don't address it we feel isolated, uncared for, and like we don't have a place in the kingdom. We need your voice and leadership. Please don't make us walk alone.

If you're here and you struggle with anxiety, I hope you find yourself saying "amen" along with me. Please remember: God's kingdom has more than enough space for you in it. This world has more than enough space for you too. I know it's hard. And I know some days you want to quit. Me too. I've been there more times than I wish I have. Do not leave. Stay. Please stay. Your story is important. Your life can change the life of someone else. Your life can change too. Trust God, as hard as it is. Cry out to him with the ugly honest words you wish your soul couldn't produce. Let him in. He's waiting with loving arms.
