Anxiety Disorders In The Film Hell's Angels

In the beginning of the movie, it opens with Howard being bathed by his mother. He seems to be about 7 or 8 years old. As she is cleaning him, she is telling Howard about different diseases and sicknesses she is washing away from him. As he progresses through the movie, you can see that he uses the same soap dish that his mother used for him as a child. Also, when his mom is cleaning him she makes him spell “quarantine” over and over again. Throughout the movie, when he feels high anxiety about his surroundings he would begin to spell “quarantine” to calm him down. His mother developed his infatuation with cleanliness and it progressed into causing him to have OCD as well as an anxiety disorder.
