Anxiety Disorder Anxiety disorder is a serious mental illness that involves the constant overwhelming feeling of being worry or always in fear. Anxiety can be more than just temporary worry of fear; it can be crippling and or threating. Spotting someone with anxiety can be really difficult because most of the symptoms a lot of people confuse them with sickness. Certain symptoms can include but are not limited to sleeping problems, cold or sweaty hands and or feet, dry mouth, shortness of breath, nausea, etc. A lot of problems can cause anxiety disorder. To actually pin point the main cause is unknown; doctors across the world are working as we speak to work on finding the main cause. Honestly you have to be really careful when you work with a person with anxiety. A lot of progress has been made to for people with this disability or mental illness to be treated. People with this disorder have two choices medication and/or therapy. Medication includes, but not limited to, anti-depressant and anxiety reducing meds. Now there are many different types of therapy a person with anxiety can go through. Psychotherapy is a type of therapy/counseling, where the doctor pin points certain symptoms using key word to trigger emotional responses. Then you have Cognitive-behavioral therapy, where the doctors teaches a person to learn and recognize the changes that are being made in their life. It is best for those with an anxiety disorder to choose between therapy or medication or have both. Now the question at hand that a lot of people are asking is, can an anxiety disorder be prevented? Anxiety disorder can not be prevented. However there are many things you can do to control it. Take a deep breath, get active, sleep well, challenge an anxious though, say an encouraging statement to yourself, stay connected to others and be involved, avoid caffeine, avoid mind-altering substances, do something you enjoy, take a break, problem-solve, read a book, engage in claiming practices, contact a therapist, or just simply
