This Internet board is the main platform where 3rd wave feminism, and the social justice warrior community talk & share ideas. There is a function on Tumblr where people can comment on these hashtags. These hashtags act as miniature messaging boards within the Tumblr site. On Tumblr, fandoms (fans who express their passion and imagination on a subject, object, or piece of literature.) are most prevalent alongside with the tag called diversity. I can talk a lot about Tumblr, but I will be rambling while beating a dead horse until it is in space. I have a Forbes article that can give you a summary of both with two YouTube videos that covers a lot of the inner-workings that explain the incident in 2 50min blocks. I will get into a quick version of the story so most people can get a gist of it. Zoe Quinn breakup with Eron Gjoni made a leak about how certain media sites collude with each other to set a narrative with each other. This exposure of Zoe Quinn caused her to DMCA the video and blog post about the incident. Zoe then doxed the new game developer, banned the group from Twitter, and ruined a game made for women. She then told reporters that the game developer was oppressive without giving a response unless she plays the victim role. Journalists wrote an article, cover, and very identical wording about this matter within gaming reviewing websites which led to controversy. The rapid publicity of this incident led to a massive crackdown on 4chan to stop anyone from talking about Gamergate. Anita Sarkeesian was a messenger to reel in the mainstream media into suppressing the truth of the matter. This was the beachhead the 3rd wave feminists & social justice warrior community needed to gain public support. Fun fact, this incident is where the term SJW came to be used against Tumblr. There was also a hashtag circulating around which was #Notyourshield where the people the SJW community said they were protecting & serving denouncing them for attacking

As technology advances, members of the free society are able to access an increasing wealth of information. However, the Internet will always have the potential to revolutionize the world, both for the betterment of everyone and the detriment of everyone. In Lloyd Axworthy’s article “The Internet and Global Human Rights,” he compares the positives and negatives of the Internet. People have a higher potential to use the internet to pursue unethical ideas than good because the internet allows for spreading false information through the manipulation of facts, stealing of intellectual property through piracy of content, and creating a harmful atmosphere through false identities and privacy concerns.…

The social network Tumblr is notorious for its “social justice warriors,” but it is a place (for some users, the only place), where people can be themselves. On the Internet, there are many groups of people who decide to positively use their voices in uplifting others. Parts of racial identity, such as dark skin and English used only in the black community are often called ugly and ridiculed by our society, but online, they are celebrated and embraced. These things aren’t limited to racial identity, there are movements of body positivity and sex positivity, and they make people gain more self-respect and self-love. If society pushes you down, then the Internet lifts you up.…
