Ismene is the perfect example of a cliché female in this time of history. When discussing with Antigone in the prologue, Ismene shows that she believes women have to bear down to the wills of men. In the scene, she says: “Think how much more terrible than these our death would be if we should go against Creon and do what is forbidden!
