Sophocles is an Ancient Greek tragedian. Sophocles was born during 496 B.C in Colonus in a village close to Athens. Sophocles was an original Greek boy from a wealthy family. Sophocles was born a few years before the battle of marathon. The exact year of his birth is unknown. Sophocles had an very educated family. Sophocles had two kids Iophon and Ariston both boys. Sophocles first wife name was Nicostrata and second wife name was Theoris. When he was not doing theater he was a member of Athenian Polis. Sophocles had great skills with dancing and music. He won the great honor of leading thee boys chorus at the age of 15.Sophocles was very religious. He gave up his house for the worship of god. Sophocles died at the age of 91 in 406 B.C. The reason most people say he died is by strain of trying to recite a long sentence without taking a breath. After his death he inspired a lot of people.
