What guides your confidence decision to follow rule or break rules established? In the play Antigone by Sophocles , Antigone broke the law buy burying her brother Polyneices when she was not supposed to because he did not die fighting for the town, but fighting against it. This relates to an article on dress code where a bunch of high school students broke the school rules by having male students wear dresses to school to show equality between males and females. Colin Kaepernick decided to take a knee during America's national anthem to fight towards police brutality. Antigone took a stand and went against her Uncle Creon to bury her brother Polyneices. The American Government is trying to build oil pipelines through the Native American sacred …show more content…
In the story, Antigone risked her life to bury her brother which so called happend to be against the rules, and she feels that there is no problem because no one should determine if anyone could be buried that's up to the gods. Colin Kaepernick took a knee during America's national anthem to go against police brutality and a lot feels he is wrong but what he’s doing is taking a stand for what he believes and you should to. Life is too short to be going for all the rules because some of them are not here to protect you but to keep you from making the wrong decision. Colin kaepernick stated “ I do not take a knee to show disrespect to nobody but I do it to get the attention to show that i realize what's going on” People throw him down , shout hatred slurs , and even burn his jersey but he continues to fight and that's where everything comes into play keep trying to go for what you believe it will always be bad before it gets good. Antigone states “ Creon the king is not strong enough to stand in my way” Meaning no one will stop her even though Creon is the king with the type of power he has she will not stop pushing to do what she has determined which is bury her brother. This evidence is all connected because Colin Kaepernick and Antigone battled their way through all the hate and put downs to do or try to achieve what they believe
