Antigone and Creon conflict on the moral and religious perceptions of each other is not because of their major differences in their conceptions, it is because of their rigid and extreme way in which they hold their conceptions. The reason as to this is because they have a different character, or rather a different up bringing hence their mode of understanding does not match. Difference in their political situation and being in different families can also be the cause of these differences. This paper will discuss the supporting reasons that shows their different conceptions on their views and also how people can avoid such tragedy as shown described in Antigone.

She has been seen to go against tyranny and fighting for the truth, hence people see her in sanity terms. Just like Creon, she also simplifies the moral values so as to favor his views while conflicting obligations. Even though she has a place superior that Creon in term of respecting morals in the society, she can be accused of narrowness in her line of thoughts. Her most concern is her family in this case and goes ahead to carry out the duties that she is supposed to do, where is also tries to convince her sister to go ahead and do it whether Ismene will like it or not. Her actions are in contrary to Creon’s expectations. She believes that among her brothers and sisters, there are no enemies to the state, or friends of the state therefore. All she understands is that they are all related to her and therefore, she is bound
