Even though antibiotic resistant pathogens cannot be prevented, it can be controlled. Therefore this mandates the urgent action from the health care providers to develop interventions or strategies to reduce the rate of antibiotic resistant infections. Therefore, this literature review identifies the health care provider’s role in reducing and effectively managing the antibiotic resistant infections. This review included meta- analysis of various randomized controlled trials, single randomized control trials, literature reviews and expert opinions that are focused on the reduction and the management of antibiotic resistant infections. Considerable amount of studies has been identified pertaining the strategies to reduce this biological threat. However, the rate of antibiotic resistant pathogens is steadily increasing is a great concern. Therefore, more research studies and well designed clinical trials are necessary to bring up effective strategies to contain the global threat caused by antibiotic resistant
