The topic I am considering is how effective antibacterial foam is in a hospital setting. This topic relates to our nursing practice because we use antibacterial foam constantly when caring for our patients. It is our job as nurses to keep our patients as safe as we can from infection, but is foaming in and out of a patient’s room really doing the trick? The clinical protocol that relates to my PICOT question would be using antibacterial foam in place of hand washing during patient care. This protocol already exists, so I do not need to develop it.
