According to Tufts the way that one is classified when having Anti-social Personality Disorder is that “The individual must be at least 18 years old, with evidence of conduct disorder beginning before age 15 and not manifest exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode (p.338).” Since behavior from the age of fifteen must show that the individual has no disregard for and violation of the rights of others. There are seven specific examples that can be identified as patterns of behavior that juveniles with Anti social personality disorder present, of the seven if three can be indicated as presenting behavior from a certain individual it is very likely that they will exhibit the behavioral patterns that come with this specific personality disorder. The child did show more ASPD tendencies as a juvenile. There were two others factors that were discovered to be influential and of biological characteristics to ASPD behavior those being temperament and if an individual has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (Tufts, 2013,340). The Sociological theory to ASPD has different factors that influence and lead to ASP behavior are low socioeconomic status, childhood aggression, peer group affiliation and academic failure. These two theories can be taken into consideration when discussing the labeling theory in regards to ASPD, Tufts states “perceived negative societal reactions lead to the development of negative self-conceptions and greater delinquent involvement (2013,341).” There are two types of labeling those being formal and informal. In order for labeling to be formal the label must be given by a social control agency such as the criminal justice system, therefore informal labels are given by parents, teachers, and peers. The most important part of informal labeling is that when a teacher, parent or peer being to negatively identify an individual the individual begins to think of themselves in a negative
