With many people joining social media and the social networking circles increasing, it allows many people to interact with those around them even more. Stout emphasizes that, “electronic media is helping kids to be in touch much more and for longer…” (Stout 7). Clearly, social networking is being purposeful for the sake of being in touch with people even more than the usual face-to-face interaction. With social media, you can continue exchanges with friends you don’t usually see for much longer. “Some researchers believe that the impersonal nature of texting and online communication may make it easier for shy kids to connect with others” (Stout 8). This is positively impacting teens because social media make their shyness abrogate, and makes it easier to interact with others.
