Bul·ly - Use superior strength of influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do wants. Bullying has been a growing issue in recent years, with the impact worsening. Most cases begin in middle school when young adults begin to develop. They target people include students who are beginning to develop. They are in a phase in which they can easily be influenced by not only the actions, but the actions of others. These cases include problems with not only mental health, but with emotional health, these issues can take a toll on someone’s social life and lead them to commit suicide. Bullying is a social issue which is not limited to schools and social relationships among children. Bullying can occur in families and in intimate relationships, often through violence against women and children. Being that this is a controversial social issue, many parents and activist have decided to take a stand against bullying. Parents have not only seen the …show more content…
The objectives of the symposium were the following: to understand the link between anti-LGBTQ bullying and mental illness and to identify ways to help such patients. To identify the academic research being done on anti- LBGTQ bullying, and how this informs tactics to combat this problem. To identify areas of weakness in the approaches being used, ways to improve them, and areas of future research. To identify ways clinicians can be involved in furthering the awareness of bullying of all kinds, including research on prevention efforts. “It is just a stage they will grow out of it.” “Learn to fight back!” These are some claims adults who don't understand bullying claim. But standing up to bullies and classroom enemies can help children develop, psychologists claim. These experts understand there can be a negatives to bullying.
