They lack competence. Because of the changes in certain areas; for example, V.A.T, some people believed they would not have been able to make the transition very well. Some Bahamians are honestly still getting used to the V.A.T. system, although it was implemented almost 2 years ago, (2015). Additionally, some Bahamians would rather follow family traditions, than pay attention to what a leader of another party can do for their country. For example, despite the many discrepancies and successes of any party elected into parliament, my grandmother exclaimed, ‘I born a PLP and will die a PLP.' She is ‘stuck in her ways'. Because most Bahamians are angry, they personally verbally attack and disrespect their leaders with no disregard, for example, take the Perry Christie song. A man came up with an idea to disrespect our leader in the form of a song. This caused some Bahamians, to feel a great sense of shame that a citizen of the Bahamas can do such a thing even out of anger. According to psychology, persons tend to lash out because they feel like they are not heard after using numerous attempt to get their point across. For example, the Black Friday March on November 25, 2016. It came to The Bahamians attention that the government is planning on giving the Chinese permission to commercially fish in our water. Numerous Bahamians did not want that to happens, as a result, they had petitions made to stop it, but felt like they were not acknowledged. Thus, they went to physical means and Marched on Bay Street to Parliament Square. On the other hand, although they cared, some Bahamians decided to not participate in the march.
