Major depression is a long-term mood disorder and 70% of the patients that recover soon relapse. Patients who are in a stressful environment that contain many triggers should consider both treatments. Everyone is different and people respond to therapy differently. It may take one patient a week in therapy to feel less depressed and it may take another patient a couple of months to feel less depressed. Anti-depressants can start working within 2 weeks and if the patient doesn’t respond to the medication, there other medications that the doctor can prescribe. Anti-depressants are the best way to regulate and control suicidal thoughts and the sooner a patient with major depression responds to it, the less likely a tragic death will
