Anthropology is the study of people throughout the world, their evolutionary history, how they behave, adapt to different environments, communicate and socialize with one another. Anthropology is something that plays an important role in everyone’s life and it is divided into four distinct sub-fields: cultural anthropology (social anthropology), biological (physical) anthropology, archaeology, and linguistic anthropology (What Is Anthropology 1). Anthropologists do many things and use many tools, methods, and approaches. They also play an important role in society and anthropologists help us understand a lot of things in the world we live in today. They know how important society is and how much it has changed over the past years. Every year something can change, it can be how people interact with each other, people’s beliefs, or people’s custom. Anthropologists are the ones who observe these changes and do research on why or how things happened. Every day, anthropologists are working and taking notes on the issues that go on in our current society and how it affects the daily lives of the people (Fields of Anthropology 1). This video was about a couple that presented themselves from a tribe off the coast of Mexico. They would go to local museums in different countries and people would pay low prices to see them and even take pictures with them. They weren’t like everyone else, they were completely different. As they would walk in the cages, there were always people holding them with leashes as if they were animals. People were questioning them, about their culture and race since everyone saw them different. Just like anthropologist methods and what they do, they were interviewing the audience throughout the world who paid to see the unusual couple in the cage. They were seen as freaks and even though they weren’t real, people believed they were. They believed it because they thought that since they were different and not like themselves, they probably were from a different race, ethnic or culture. The audiences were observing and participating in the couples live just like anthropologist would do. This gave them a better understanding of how they lived like and how their culture and society was. Language is important in anthropology and the couple in the cage were speaking a completely different language from the audience. That made the audience believe it even more because they didn’t know or understand the language they were speaking, they thought that they were really from a different culture. Even
