Between late summer and early fall, the EAB will feed on the vascular cambium of its host (Haack et al., 3). Occasionally EAB larvae will go beyond the “cambial region” of the ash tree and feed on the secondary xylem found within the sapwood (Haack et al., 3). Impact: Between Goss’s Wilt and Root Rot Pythium I believe the Root Rot Pythium has a much greater impact on a Corn plant. There is a much greater impact because the time of infection is at a much earlier time when the plant is just a seedling and has a slim chance of fighting off the necrotrophic disease.…

The top 1/3 of a particular mountain in Yellowstone contains a large population of white bark pine trees and about twenty grizzly bears. Over about twenty years, average temperatures get significantly warmer due to pollution and climate change. As modeled by the diagram, warmer temperatures lead to an increase in the population of white bark pine infesting beetles. An increase in the beetles overwhelms the defense systems of the white bark pine trees, and they are completely wiped out from the mountain in about a decade. There are many different elements to use in order to properly evaluate short stories. These elements include plot, character, point of view, and theme. Not only do these elements help the reader understand the story, it also allows the reader to be able to classify a short story as either commercial or interpretative fiction.
