The concept of good parenting is culturally, socially, economically and racially biased. The educational system varies from school to school, and can be good or bad depending on how they are implemented and interpreted; parents need to be advocates for their children’s learning to ensure they receive the best elementary, middle and high school education in which to become successful learners. The federal government responsibility is to focus less on assessment and evaluation, and more on the strength, creativity, uniqueness of children and their childhood, by supplying schools with adequate resources. The primary concern should be what is best for the children. Tenure or not, educators and schools are held accountable for the education of our nation’s future leaders. To improve conditions in public schools, it might be beneficial to use a holistic approach to teaching. All children learn at a different pace. Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences exemplifies the importance of individuals realizing their own potential in different modalities. This method would benefit Anthony and all students in any academic environment, especially in today’s diverse classroom. In order to be an effective teacher, one must be aware of a child's cognitive, social and emotional development, which can only happen when the teacher is able to work closely with each student. Educators must model what leadership and advocacy looks like, choosing to teach beyond the barriers of public
