All around the world, people have used food as a reason to gather or maybe gathering is a reason to for food. That is what Anthony Bourdain found during his show Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations - Sardinia. Anthony Bourdain's show is about food and as he was introduced to the different kinds of foods in the regions of Sardinia, he realized that in Sardinia, everyone is considered family. At the ?? Festival, he discovered that the person sitting next to you may be a new person, but they know someone who knows someone else who is related or is a neighbour. It has fought hard to maintain its own personality and traditions. Not only is the actual landscape hard, but so is life in general. An interesting positive side to this difficult life is that there have been really no discernable society classes. Life had been had for all of the people living in Sardinia. In a conversation between Bourdain and his wife, he mentioned the stereotype of the Sardinian people as shepherds with knives and kidnappers. She fully supported this stereotype. (Collins, 2009) Bourdain also noted that the use of knives to slice a piece of cheese or meat was everywhere. People These protection sentiments are proved within Bourdain's discussion with Lisa and Carlo. At the end of the thought that the way of life would be harmed by fencing off areas for the Italian military to do its training was an outrage for the people of Sardinia. The negative effects on the traditional shepherding way of life would have been drastic. Those effects as well as the great pride the locals have of their traditions and culture. (Collins, 2009) Wild game survives well on the island too, and therefore, the diet of Sardinia consists of plenty of meat dishes. Lamb and wild game, such as boar, are common sources of food. With the Sardinian pride in their ability to be fully sustainable, none of the animal was wasted. The sauce for spiny lobster contained the lobster innards, the stomach of the boar was stuffed with the organs and made into a dish and even the sheep's stomach was stuffed with blood and made into a delicacy that everyone longed for.
Similar to some small farms in Canada, some Sardinian farmers have been expanding their business to include tourists. Agriturismo has become a great way to share local foods and wines.
