Anthony: A Fictional Narrative

"It's been so hard, being so close to you and not being able to do much about it. I was so close to kissing you today." Anthony admits quietly, words reverberating against Ian's shoulder.

Ian feels fireworks blooming under his skin, starting from his chest and spreading throughout his body.

Ian is probably, no, he's definitely trembling a little bit, but really, can you blame him?

"Well, I mean, the day isn't over yet." Ian bites his lip and looks at Anthony, praying he understands what exactly he means.

Anthony is silent for a second.

"Does this mean I can kiss you?"

Ian feels a little lightheaded and like his heart's going to beat through his chest at any moment now.

"If you want." Ian breathes.

Anthony smiles, albeit a bit crookedly, before leaning in to kiss him, gently at first,

Seventh grade? Eighth? Somewhere around that time. This is gonna sound so cheesy, man, but bear with me. You slept over one night during middle school and I woke up to you just cuddling the fuck out of me and I was like 'oh my god'. Anthony laughs embarrassedly, and puts his hand over his face.

Ian lit up like a Christmas tree. "If it makes you feel any better, as a like fourteen- fifteen year old, I popped boners over you all the time. I still do, sometimes." Ian admitted, voice trailing off.

Anthony bites his lip, and takes a risk. "It's a good thing I'm here, then." He says lowly, slipping his knee between Ian's thighs and-

Ian gasps sharply. "God, Anthony, warn me before you do that." He laughs breathlessly, embarrassed at his reaction to something as small as that.

"Do you want me to stop?" Anthony says, and Ian knows if he wanted him to, that Anthony would stop immediately.

Ian looks away. "Well, I wouldn't say that..." He looks away, too flustered to meet Anthony's gaze. While he looks away he notices that... there are people watching
