Anthem The Isolated Land In Anthem the reason why they have so many rules, and the higher-ups are in full authority and the citizens have no say in anything is because the author, Ayn Rand, lived through these experiences and wrote about them in a fictional way. She was born in Russia on February 5th, 1905. Back in 1905, there was a war of The Russian Revolution. It was the full uprising of communism in 1917. Reading the book anthem is like going through the perspective of going through communism to the intensity of being there. There is no talking to other genders, there are no reserved names to the common, you are assigned a task to do, and you cannot prove the scholars wrong as a lower job. Most of the people of the city are considered to be as all one. They go by the saying of one person is equal, but the other is more equal. They go by the word “we” when something is accomplished by one, not I. The purpose of the rules is to be concealed and productive. Everyone is assigned a job they cannot complain they just do the work. There is no such thing of individuality in the city of Anthem. Everyone is “equal” at a different level. No one is themselves, but Equality. The civilians of the city are named something random with numbers. The city of Anthem is like living in a prison without guards around just other people locked up and
