In addition to enjoying my time of school, during the first few weeks of summer vacation the summer assignments were sent in along with the names of what teachers and classes you will have. At first I was thinking to myself, who are these teachers and what do they teach in the class called Inquiry Skills. I thought it was a class that was kind of like psychology but in a more basic level ( boy was I wrong.) All things considered, my first obstacle came when I saw the quantity of work I had to accomplish in other to prepare myself for the upcoming school year. Writing an essay on the book named Anthem for English was unbearable for the fact I never understood the book, answering a multitude of questions for the Greek story called the Iliad was

Most students enjoy summer vacation, but some educators feel that summer break is too long and that students do not retain information as easily when they return in the fall. Some people argue that there should be year-round schools, where there would be a 3-4 week break in the Summer, a longer Winter break, and a week off in the Spring and Fall. Summer break is very beneficial to students. Summer break is something students look forward to all year. For students, summer break means less stress from all the work, a time of freedom, and a well rested mind from the time off.…

I was unfamiliar with the process of choosing the order of courses that would transition me to graduation. As a result, I took several non-required courses, and I even took some of the needed courses, for my degree, out of order. Needless to say, I hit an academic wall that lasted five long semesters. It would have been easier for me to change majors for the sake of graduation, but being in such a predicament only sharpened my perseverance and molded my determination. While these academic complications seemed unbearable at the time, my senior year turned out to be my most challenging year.…

Greetings Mrs. Judy, I am excited for being in your honors English class this first semester. I am looking forward to excelling in your class and continuing the second semester with Mrs. Williams-Korbel. My sophomore year at Saugus seems to look like a great one! I love challenging myself in school taking the most difficult courses available. I am usually a very quiet and polite student who loves to listen to the instructor and complete all assignments on time and precisely.…

My main concern previous to this summer assignment was the level of interest I would have in the novels we read, as well as the difficulty they may contain. However, after reading, I thoroughly enjoyed the short stories and I genuinely believe that the reading level will be sufficiently difficult, yet not impossible. The amount of reading required for the summer assignment felt fairly familiar to the previous year. Nevertheless, I never had to write 5 papers in one summer. This doesn’t raise any concerns for me, however, because I did realize that AP Junior English would require more work, and I prepared myself for it.…

Our final paper on film taught me that I really enjoy films that I never would have otherwise watched and to be more open to learning new things. At the beginning of the year, I was afraid of what I thought Comp was going to be like. I expected long, boring lectures and papers over topics that I couldn’t possibly begin to understand. There was also some worry about how hard of a teacher I was going to have and how hard the assignments were going to be.…

Overall my reading experience this year was very productive because I was able to grow as a reader. I have noticed that I have become more insightful and attentive when I read because I have become more able to create post-its that analyzes the text more carefully and thoroughly. I also found it more easier to create post-its because I notice more important plot points and events that directly correlates with important character traits. My favorite literary work throughout the year was “Romeo and Juliet” because it was very dramatic and the plot was very “swingy”. I also enjoyed the play format because it felt more dynamic due better pacing that most other books do not have.…

Writing assignments are the most stressful, hardest, and most annoying type of work I have ever had! My first story to prove my thesis came in the form of a demonstrative speech I had to write for my speech class, where for the life of me, I could not even pick a topic. Though writing my speech was difficult, a harder example of this came as a process essay for my English 101 class. Still, these two examples prove minimal when compared to the horrendous onslaught that became my English 101 Mid Term Exam!…
