Ansel Adams, born February 20, 1902, is one of the founding photographers for the photography movement known currently as “straight photography.” Adams, who primarily spent his childhood in his birthplace of San Francisco, California, was injured during a 1906 earthquake, where he broke his nose (which never properly recovered).
