Anos Fitness Movement Analysis

Improved Essays
Not many people are able to say that they were a part of a movement that impacted hundreds of people that grew up in a poor area. Back in 2013, I joined a fitness program that changed my life for the better. I joined with the intent of bettering myself to be in a better shape for the future, but I soon realized that I had become part of what is known as Anos fitness. The movement was to help drive the city of Lawrence into a healthier city. I have been in the movement which now impacts almost a couple thousand people every day. I helped drive the movement, even more because it was supposed to be classes for adults, but I was able to join because of my father and his connection with the founder Wander Morel.
Once I joined, I instantly became known as the Takeover. I called this because I was the youngest, but I was one of the hardest working people in all of his classes. This caused commotion and people wanted to see if it was true; that a 13-year-old was one of the hardest working students in a class designed to push adults to their max. I was highly praised throughout and earned a spot on the stage.
Which made the movement even bigger. For the reason that being on the stage was only for the hard working

When he told me this, I took this and I knew that I need to help push the movement further than what it was at the time. Wander was telling me how he was thinking about how he might want to put me as an assistant in helping him teach the classes, because of what I have accomplished and my contributions to the movement. If he had followed through, then I would have become a full-time trainer at the rate which I was impacting the classes. I am glad to say that I was, and still am, one of the main reasons why the Anos Movement is as big as it is today. To this date, I haven’t been told of too many teenagers that had a big impact on a community as I

Students interested in exercise and fitness attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe should band together to create a fitness club for the benefit of the area and to satiate their desire to exercise with others that have similar desires. For the most part, people living in Louisiana do not prefer to participate in activities that require work because it is either too hot or they just do not have the time. Creating an organization titled “Sore Losers” can give those people who want to participate in activities a place to go and can motivate others who need just a little push. The United States of America is the leading factor among the countries for obesity.…

I was absolutely mind boggled by the reactions that I perceived from the stage! I saw my tough and not-so-sensitive dad sobbing, my non-believer friend attentive, and the rest of the congregation worshipping with me. I got my first standing ovation. I was so proud to take it in with my fellow praise team members. Come to find out, by practicing with my team in front of people, we influenced them to ask our praise team leader, “What is so different about these kids?”…

Positive Influence on WCHS While attending WCHS I have tried to make a positive impact on not only my peers, but the facility as well, whether it's a simple good morning or a smile while walking down the hall. I have tried to obtain leadership roles in various extracurricular activities throughout my high school career to help make a bigger impact on kids life's. I love to lead and be apart of something that is positive, for example being apart of FFA has shown me how far a simple ten cans of food can do. Simple things can turn around someone's day, FFA donates can goods, also dog and cat food to local animal shelters. I know when I donate and see the impact it has it makes me feel like a better person, the feeling is indescribable.…

At Xavier University we believe in the “All for One and One for All” philosophy; showing that camaraderie and equality among all are still possible. One way Xavier lives up to its support for students is through the one-year long Smooth Transition mentoring program. I served as a smooth transition mentor to three incoming first-year students during the 2016-2017 academic year. In order to ensure that they have a successful first year at Xavier, I informed them about the resources Xavier University provides, including the writing center, mathematics lab, tutoring services, Ohio link, and much more. I also advised them to make good decisions and form relationships with people who would motivate them to succeed.…

    Speaking To An Outsider

I’ve always thought about helping others so they can have the same benefits that I have today, if it’s just to speak out or even not to feel discouraged because you walk in somewhere and people look at you because you're a different skin color. By my junior year I was able to do that by notifying the people in the community about this big issue. The task was to go around the San Fernando community to pass out flyers and inform them about immigrants rights. While doing this, I learned the skills of speaking to a stranger about issues that still concern us today. Going to the first house was terrifying, stepping into those first steps and speaking to a stranger in the morning that doesn’t want to be interrupted was going to be difficult.…

The Army behind The Army Although I have never been in the position of needing others’ help, I have seen fellow classmates be there. The Salvation Army started off as a small evangelistic group trying to get relief to others in multiple areas, but it has now become a household name. Some people rely on this special group to get by, while others rely on them during certain times of the year like Christmas and Thanksgiving. People throughout our local area are to account for the help to be able to make this organization do what it needs to for the community. From feeding the homeless and clothing men, women, and children, to helping find shelters and jobs, the Salvation Army has proven to be a national relief center for communities around the world.…

I have always dreamed to be the next influential American for my generation. During my childhood I've always looked up to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, and Misty Copeland; all African Americans who influenced me to be the person I am today. Martin Luther King taught me that change is possible and if I fight for what’s right an impact will be made. Maya Angelou taught me that you can express yourself without being flamboyant, but through metaphors, empowerment and irony. Misty Copeland made me realize that I can be an African American girl who dances, and I can make it out of my county doing what I love.…

This achievement meant more than performing at the festival; it taught me valuable lessons as well. I learned a lesson I would never have learned were I to get in on the first try. I have also learned that failure and criticism are very important parts of the learning practice of life.
