The disorder affects both males and females, and can occur at any age. Starving one's self can result in losing weight. If one does not eat and work out continuously then the appearance of their body will change dramatically. A person will have thin hair, dry and yellow skin, might have swelling, and they will be overly skinny to the point where the bone is visible through the skin. A person with anorexia will have emotional and behavior issue, as in "a fear of gaining weight" ("Anorexia Nervosa" 4). It is always important to look out for all the symptoms because someone with anorexia can hide the changes. One with this disorder can cover themselves with makeup and clothes. Skipping meals and not eating in pubic is also a sign of having anorexia. Family and friends can look out for even the smallest change in one's personality or physical characteristics to prevent
