This is a condition that is often difficult to overcome because Anorexia nervosa can be difficult to overcome. Some of the physical strains that are imposed on the body because of Anorexia are that there will primarily be weight loss. The person will have really low blood counts and would be fatigued easily. The person is also at risk for insomnias, might have bluish discoloration of their fingers because of lesser oxygen, or might have soft downy hair covering their body. In women in particular there is loss of menstruation and there are irregular heartbeats, dehydration, osteoporosis and more noted (MayoClinic, 2014). In addition to this there are also emotional and behavioral symptoms associated with Anorexia. The person would refuse to eat and would deny hunger in order to stay a certain weight. They may lie about their food consumptions, might be constantly depressed and will also abuse laxatives and more. People with eating disorders tend to be obsessed with perfectionism; they would be obsessive compulsive or would be highly neurotic. In addition these people could also have a very low emotional threshold, high negative emotions, might have low self esteem or might have an avoidant personality disorder. In addition to these psychological factors, it can be seen that starvation and other conditions of anorexia nervosa might lead to more traits, creating a cyclical negative cycle.
