Crime Stoppers USA programs are a non-profit organization led by citizens against crime. CSUSA acquires data from anonymous persons providing information about crimes. Crime Stoppers receive their information through anonymous Crime Stoppers tips, by either secure tip lines or secured web connection protected by professional program coordinator. To ensure anonymity each caller is given a code number. If the information acquired from the anonymous person leads to an arrest, then the person can receive a cash reward of up to $1000. It is the responsibility of the citizens to form local Crime Stoppers organizations, the directors manage the program by establishing policies, deciding the amount for reward payment, and by working with law enforcement
