Anon(ymous) opens with refugees recalling what they remember from their homeland. They reminiscence about the environment that was around them and of their families. Hernandez expressed emotions of sadness, happiness, confusion, anger, helplessness and more throughout the performance. As the main character, without an excellent presentation of lines, emotions, and interactions, Anon(ymous) could have doubtfully fell apart. In many scenes throughout the play Anon has a difficult time remembering the very things that make us human. Whether it was trying to recall where he came from or the relationship he once had with his mother, through his acting Hernandez was able to show us the emotions everyday immigrants have. In the middle of the stage Anon bursts with emotions and rediscovers the memory of escaping war with his mother. Obviously in a better place, Anon still shows discontent and a feeling of emptiness without his mother, Nemasani.
