As with any changes or used of new technology it can have its limits and barriers. The authors discussed the limits regarding technology and the legal issues that it has on utilizing it in practice. This article addressed both sides of how information technology has its barriers and how it can help reduce cost and place standards of care in effect.
I felt this article was very informative discussed how technology can reduce cost to patients and hospitals. If we follow certain standards of care we as nurses can directly impact outcomes in care for each patient. With technology we can see trends, lab work, and gain a better understanding of each patients needs.
