Employee tardiness takes a huge toll on the business and other employees. It also affects someone’s reputation and reliability which will hinder their ability to get promotions or other work-related rewards. Being late to work all the time can also affect employee morale because it forces other workers to work harder. Plus, it ruins the reputation of the business when the employees fall behind when trying to make up for the late worker.
An individual’s reputation and reliability are being affected by a parking lot. The students who have to work right after school will almost always be late because it takes forever to get out of the parking lot. This prevents them from getting good employee evaluations and promotions. Their tardiness also affects their co-workers and the business itself. Parking lots are designed to provide safe and efficient access to your destination. They should be rectangular in shape and use the majority of the space that is available. Parking stalls should be used around the perimeter and traffic lanes should go through two lanes of stalls. A well designed parking lot will not have many traffic or congestion issues. Parking angle is another thing to consider when designing your parking lot. Also, the material used to pave the lot will determine how much maintenance will be required. Drainage planning in the parking lot is important as well. Overall, the Grassfield High School parking lots were well thought out and functional. They are rectangular in shape and make the most out of the space available. However, they could be even better. Instead of forcing over two hundred cars out of one exit, they could have added a second exit. A simple fix to a big problem. Not only is the entire junior lot trying to get out at the same exit all at once, but half of the senior lot uses that exit. The school itself only has two entrances and two exits. For a school of over two thousand students, this is not enough. Adding an additional exit to the back of the junior lot will enable them to choose which exit they want to use. This will decrease the amount of cars going through each exit at one time and will benefit the
