This article talks about the different ways that stereotypes is portrayed in the media. It says that before 2000s, men were portrayed as the financial person, with the strong dominance over the family. Their masculinity was their power. It helps to better understand a complicated system. Society stereotypes people in different skin color, hair texture, facial features to help us with social collaborations. Media is a powerful source where we learn most of our information from. They tell us what a status is and why a status is very important. Television uses the stereotypes of African American and Latinos to show them as criminals and oversexualizing them. Television is not only where this inequality takes place. News also incorporates racial discrimination to get a juicier story line. Many studies were conducted about the discrimination that occurs in the media. Overall, they found that television is the dominant agent that contributes to gender stereotypes, racial discrimination and much
