Early childhood professionals from Arizona State University, Jay Blanchard and Terry Moore, discuss how the exposure of various digital technology media influence three-to-five-year-old children’s learning all over the world. The authors gathered research from universities, non-profit organizations, and non-governmental bodies, to identify the potential benefits of combination between non-intentional and intentional digital learning opportunities toward children’s emergent literacy skills development globally. This paper is valuable for my research about children screen time practice because Blanchard and Moore found that digital media opened the new avenue in transforming linguistic and social practice and provided engagement with young children in different ways than print materials did. …show more content…
This information is beneficial to my research paper because it offer comprehensive understanding of implications of different types of media such television, computer, the Internet, tablets and cell phones to children’s attention, processing speed, and attitudes toward learning, social collaboration.
