The Intel article was about how women in third world countries do not have gender equality because of their lack of Internet access. According to the Intel, "women in third world countries tend to be less aware of the internet than men, have less facility online, and are often restricted by cultural norms from using the internet at all". In my opinion the APA, American Psychological Association, did an exceptional job on giving a report about sexualization of girls and women. For starters, APA has long been well influential on issues related to the impact of media content on children. In 1994 APA develop a policy resolution for violence in mass media and in 2005 APA adopted a policy resolution on "Violence in Video Games and Interactive Media". Throughout this report, it talks about how sexualization of girls can caused serious side effect on girls and it also points out how society as a whole can work to recognizing this problem and work to fixing this problem. From my perspective APA gave a great definition on what sexualization really is and they also did a great job in examining the prevalence of sexualization in society and other cultural institutions. The report did a good job in showing how sexualization has negative consequences for girls. For example, the report pinpointed that sexualization of girls is linked to common mental health problems like eating disorders, low self-esteem, and depression. I also appreciated how the report describes positives alternatives that may have counteract the influence of sexualization. All in all I feel that the report was an excellent piece that was very motivating and very knowledgeable. The only thing I dislike were the few errors the report had. It wasn’t that article have strategic errors but more of grammatical errors that could have been found using Microsoft Word and because critics take a look of those little mistakes, it could make them look a little less credible for the amount of errors that it did

Annotated Bibliography Biblical Interpretation. 2015, Vol. 23 Issue 2, p191-206. 16p. This source claims that in the past utopian societies existed- utopian as a flexible ideal type, rather than a strict definition. It suggest that reading the Hebrew Bible as a utopia reconstructs its historical realities. The author concedes the argument that each reconstruction of reality is only one possible interpretation offered by a member of a non-intended audience and it doesn’t confirm the existence of a utopian society but he strongly grasps to the fact that if the different reconstructions are put together the truth is more likely to be revealed.…

This paper will review literature regarding the relationship between sex offenders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. It will also look into the background of sex offenders with these disabilities in particular and what characteristics make up this group of individuals. Possible treatments and interventions for sex offenders with intellectual and developmental disabilities will also be discussed. This topic is impertinent to research as to make sure sex offenders with intellectual disabilities get the proper help they need and are not overlooked by the justice system. I found this subject to be of interest to research after hearing about a case involving a sex offender who was unknowingly coerced into committing a rape crime by…

The article by Tynan, Somers, Gleason, Markman, & Yoon (2015) investigates the role of external influential factors on the risky behaviours and goal-oriented habits of adolescents in 9th and 12th grades. The authors identify the various factors that influence adolescents’ behaviours including biological, peers, family and political factors. One of the variables considered for the study include parental monitoring; according to the authors, when parents are less involved in monitoring and observing the adolescents, there is a resulting increase in risky behaviours such as smoking, sexual engagement, drug use, and criminal activities. Parental involvement, another key factor, in the adolescents’ homework and extracurricular activities does not only improve the performance of such a child, but also decrease aggressive and poor behaviours such as smoking and drinking. Parental communication which entails parents discussing moral and sexual topics with the children will influence the adolescent development.…

The display of the contrasting reports exhibits the shocking impact of increased exposure adolescent girls face during their lifetime, and how the importance of femininity replaces performance as being the number one priority in the mindset of these young girls. Furthermore, Hanes includes the marketing of sexualization in mass media like the television, magazines and songs often contributes to the side effects such as low self-esteem, a decrease in intellectual performances and physical/mental health issues (512). By including the consequences, Hanes is able to convince the readers through the appeal of logics that the sexualization is more than just a casual shrug and should be taken more seriously as it is a growing problem in the…
