Annotated Bibliography On Human Cloning

Deciding which topic to use for my annotated bibliography wasn’t so much a “walk in the park.” At first, I wanted to choose something I could relate too or have a connection with. The more I started brainstorming, the more I realized that my topic shouldn’t be decided on something I could relate to with an experience I have had my self, but more of something that I find interest on. That’s when I decided that I wanted to choose Human Cloning as my topic. I began thinking more thoroughly to figure out what exactly I wanted to write about using this topic. That’s when what I’m passionate about came into the picture. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to give the good and bad facts on Human Cloning, but also the Christian based view on it as well.
Many people have their pros and cons toward Human Cloning and Embryonic stem cell research, its all about your personally opinion towards the subject. From a scientific perspective, human cloning can be seen as a new, more advanced way to create life. From a religious perspective, it can be seen as playing God. Although, women who aren’t able to have kids may look at it as another opportunity for a child, some say it’s the cure to infertility. It is all about your perspective and how you view the issue. As of right now, human cloning isn’t so much a concern,

There are some pros to doing so. For example, if you lose a loved one, why wouldn’t you want them back? If you aren’t able to have a child, would you be willing to do it this way? Cloning has it perks but it has its risks. By cloning, you risk medical health, emotional stability, and most importantly you risk your life. The choice is yours when the day comes that cloning is an everyday act of life. But most importantly, what do you think God thinks of this? He is the creator of life. If you are a Christian and believe that this is true, you are playing Him in every sort of way by

Cloning is a cell, cell product, or organism that is genetically identical to the unit or individual it is derived from. During the process of cloning, a piece of DNA is cut from its source with a restriction enzyme. Then, the DNA is put into a vector ( a DNA molecule used to transport genetic material into another cell). The vector is introduced to a host cell by the process called transformation, then the host cell copies the vector DNA with the original DNA; creating copies of the inserted DNA. After the DNA is done copying, it is then removed from the host cell and purified cell.…

The medical advances we could have makes it hard to say that it is wrong. I also think that reproductive cloning should be legally okay. Many women these days are deemed infertile by a doctor, there unable to conceive by themselves. With the help of human cloning, it is possible for women to have the chance to carry their own child and not have to use a surrogate mother. That really gives you a perspective on how important cloning could be to someone.…

By the end of the year 2000, thousands of animals were successfully cloned. In 2001, a human embryo was cloned successfully to a 32 cell stage, before scientists terminated it. Had this experiment continued, a child might have been born with identical DNA to it’s parent. We are capable of cloning, the technology is there, but whether we should exercise this technique on humans or not is an ethical question that has haunted progressive thinkers…

Cloning a child would be unethical for the simple reason being the clone is its own person. “The main point to keep in mind is that a cloned human being would not be a mere replicant. It would be a unique person”(Dudley 40). Many people do not understand that a clone will not be exactly like the person they wanted to clone personality wise and they will make their own decisions. This would then add pressure to the child making them feel like they aren’t a “real” kid, or make them feel like they have to live to be like someone else.…

Cloning is a sin in front of god because in the bible it says “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them “Genesis 1:27. God created people in his own image, and for babies to be created in mother’s womb, in the natural way not in a test tube. Anyone who follows God and believes in the bible should not say cloning is right especially just for organ donation, because nobody should take away the life of another person because only God can take away lives. Men did not create our life but God did so a man should not have any right to take anybody’s life because only the creator can take what he gave ys therefore killing clones for donation purpose is murdering and it should be a crime. If people keep on cloning to save their loved ones or in the memory of them, then the generation is not going anywhere because we are going to keep on cloning the people that were here.…

Many people that are exposed to cloning would not use it for scientific purposes. They might use it to create humans with supernatural features. They might use it to create new, deadly species. If cloning is exposed to the military, they could use the process to design and create supernatural humans. If generals made an abundant supply of dynamic soldiers, wars would never end.…

According to UCDavis.edu/news The average success rate of cloning is fewer than 10% ! That means over 90% of cloning is a failure. And the unsuccessfulness of cloning is just one of the many reasons cloning should me illegal, a few more are Cloning is very cruel to its subjects and extremely unmoral. Cloning also has little to no actual benefit and predominantly causes pain and suffering. While cloning may seem joyus to some because its creating life, in reality cloning is very cruel and causes an immense amount of suffering, “Excitement over Noah soon tanked: At two days old the calf died of scours, chronic diarrhea in livestock caused by an intestinal infection”(Stewart). This shows how cruel and painful cloning can be because…

    Is Human Cloning Wrong

Demands of parents towards children do no change simply because a child is a clone or not parental demands are different from parent to parent. Being able to clone or alter genes through cloning would be better for society because it could get rid of diseases and make people happier. If there are prejudices that occur because of allowing cloning it is not a reason to stop cloning because it is not a reason to stop other events that could cause prejudice to happen, so cloning should be treated the same. If a child found out they were a clone it would not be traumatizing enough to consider stopping cloning because it is no worse to find out that then to find out something about your family that could be just as damaging. Lastly since cloning would be not more dangerous or even less dangerous than traditionally having a child, the argument that it is too dangerous is not valid and cloning would be…

Catarina Garcia Engbrock English DC 9 March 2018 Mini Research Paper An example of modern science/technology that I think oversteps moral boundaries and has yielded unwanted consequences is cloning for stem cell research. In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein creates life, which could have it’s benefits, but he did not think of the problems and unwanted consequences that could result from it. Although there are benefits to cloning there are also unwanted effects and unnecessary consequences.…
