This article starts by giving back ground of the effects of alcohol on humans and human illnesses and behavior. It talks about alcohol related behavior and the annual cost in Korea of 21 billion dollars and that there are still 6 billion that are not accounted for that is due to crime and violence. The author sees alcohol consumption as having a negative impact on society. He feels that there needs to be some sort of prevention. The article talks about how earlier studies showed that alcohol violence by drinking too much has shown the outcome of people losing restraint. The article then goes into talking about how Alcohol is a neurotoxin and how neurotoxins interrupt the role of the frontal lobe. It then goes to talk about how denial of one drinking too much can lead to brain damage. It states that the more alcohol people drink the more likely they are to be more violent as well as more likely to deny any need of help. The author stats that it would be hard to get people into counseling even if they did have violent behavior and that not everyone who drinks becomes violent, but that violence and aggression are related to alcohol. The author states that 40% of all crime are in some shape or form related to the consumption of alcohol.
