Ghani, E., Kerr, W., & O'Connell, S. D. 2013. Promoting Women's Economic Participation in India. World Bank: Economic Premise

This article analyzes the spatial determinants of female entrepreneurship in India in the service and manufacturing sectors. The study finds that education and good infrastructure predict higher female entry shares. It also explores the reasons in huge disparities in women's economic participation in India. The authors claim that unlocking entrepreneurship and empowerment is a direct avenue to a more sustainable growth.

E. Raju examines the gender discrimination in India in demographic social, political and economic context. Dr. Raju writes that gender issues have become central policy arena, emphasizing on the importance of the issue. He briefly examines the development of gender issue in India. Moreover, Dr. Raju examines the various indicators used in the National Survey. His analysis shows that there is correlation between reproductive health of women and gender inequality.

In my research paper, I will compare my analysis of the various indicators to that of Dr. Raju's analysis.

The article concludes that there had been a critical progress in the performance of women education. The paper also the trends in female literacy in India. It shows that the gaps between rural and urban female literacy rates are narrowing down.
