The smell hit her first-Annie would recognize that familiar smoky scent anywhere. Her mind was in a state of pure panic. She knew it was the man from the car accident. When he had been stalking her and her family, he would always leave behind a nasty aroma, as if he had been constantly smoking on their property. One large hand was covering her mouth while the other had a harsh grip on her throat. Annie’s body had a mind of its own; her brain was too fried to command her limbs to move-it was as if they were moving themselves. She desperately reached to her left, searching for anything that she could use to attack her stalker. She first made contact with the television remote, but her hand was shaking so much that she simply kept pressing random buttons on it for it to have any effect. …show more content…
However, he had much more muscle mass than she did, and his grip on her throat was getting stronger the more she struggled for air. Annie’s mind had gone completely blank. She was unable to conjure up a single thought, her brain had ultimately decided to give up on survival. Her body was quickly giving up hope as well, but as she dropped the television remote on the ground, her dropping arm came in contact with the bottle of alcohol that she had been secretly keeping hidden up in her room for nights when she was home alone. She hurriedly latched onto the neck of the glass bottle, praying that her stalker did not notice her action. Faster than the speed of light, Annie thrust the bottle in the direction of her potential killer, trusting that she would smack his head and knock him unconscious. She knew she was about to die at any moment; her body was becoming as still as a statue after all of the asphyxiation it was going
