Have you ever wanted to be able to read about the freak show? The title of this book is Freaks: Alive on the Inside. Annette Curtis Klause wrote this book to display different themes and conflicts. There is a few different genres involved in this book. There is romance, fantasy, and adventure. This book was also published in 2006. Freaks is a well thought out book that allows readers to explore a very creative mind of a write. Annette Curtis Klause has written other books as well. She is an English-American writer and librarian and specializes in young adult fiction. Klause started writing in 1990 and continues to do so today. Freaks is one of the four amazing, well known books that she has written over the years. The beginning of the book starts off with a medium paced start. After a few pages, this book draws the reader in and makes them not want to put it down. He ends up finding a freak that sits him down and tells him the horrible truths about the show. “Compelled by these visions and yearning to be more than ordinary, Abel embarks on a journey more frightening and wondrous than he ever imagined”(59). When you think the adventure and attention-grabbing just gets started, it gets more interesting. While this story is very adventurous and full of romance, there are historical aspects to it that give it a little seriousness to the excitement. Klause did a really good job writing this book in all aspects. Whether it be the themes displayed, conflict or the action, readers of all kind will be entertained by Freaks. The adventure and fantasy would be the main points to draw out upon. I personally see this as one of my favorite stories I’ve read in
