Annelore Bauer: A Fictional Narrative

H annelore Bauer’s sister, the thirteen year old Ingeborg “Inge” Bauer, was lugging around a rectangular wooden box with two attached straps, allowing her to carry the box on her back. Long past nightfall, a full moon illuminating the nighttime sky was enough lighting for her. With not a single oncoming vehicle in sight, she crossed an empty countryside road in the Midwest, towards a ditch. Adelburger Walther Schäffer and FVL leaders Lucas Fields, Preston Connelly, and Gudruna Hurley were waiting for her there. Jumping into the ditch and making a perfect landing on her two feet, the four RGA members were rather glad that Inge was able to come along, in addition to the wooden box that she carried on her back. “You must be Inge, I presume?” …show more content…
“That’s right,” she delightfully answered him with a smile. “And I was also able to retrieve those ‘bunny ear’ binoculars that you four wanted from Hannelore.” “Ah, you mean the one that she claimed she got it, as it was flying from the sky?” the perseverant Lucas Fields. “Yup, that’s the one,” replied Inge. Gudruna commented, taking note of her cheerful nature. “Compared to your sister, you seem to be a less uptight and a lot more upbeat. I know that your sister’s not here and all, because of what happened a few weeks back, but I’m starting to think that having you lighten up the mood around here is a nice change of pace from that cynical sister of yours.” “Same,” Inge agreed with the disciplined and conservative girl scout, “Never before have I ever thought that I would actually meet a girl scout who was both friendly and well-mannered.” “Well, those pompous rascals from the Emerald Swan Society can become beasts of burden, if I must admit,” said Gudruna. “But really, so long as you give me and my Kameraden proper treatment, we’ll get along just …show more content…
“What about you, Preston? Think you can pull it off?” “Well, why me?” he argued. “I don’t hear you asking Inge about whether or not she wants to volunteer.” “Preston, I recently got a free laser incision from a bunch of occultists inside a Dweller city in Oregon, and almost bled to death from it,” Walther mentioned to him in passing about the predicament he had in Blood Moon, “As for Inge, she’s still too innocent to be caught up in this deadly game called Brotzmanskrieg. If you can’t do it out of love toward one’s neighbor, then at least do it on behalf of a scout’s honor and loyalty.” “Fine then, I’ll do it,” Connelly’s will finally succumbs to the wishes of the Adelburger leader. Right before he went over the top, Preston first pulled out his own personal ACP detector, before putting his backpack back on. His last words before he departed were: “Pray that I turn out fine, you

I studied the girl sitting in the grass next to me. Her fingers brushed lightly over the dewy grass; the movement was so gentle that I almost attributed it to the light breeze blowing through the trees far above. The fluttering of the leaves caused the shadows on the forest floor, spawned by the faint sunlight of the approaching dawn, to dance serenely. The sky was dotted with streaks of pink and purple as the sun began to rise above the horizon. I watched the girl, whose name I had only recently learned to be Cira, slowly run her finger over a small white flower.…
