“The Diary of a Young Girl” written in letters by Anne Frank, is particularly interesting to teenagers and middle schoolers because of how real the book is. As the entries were written by someone experiencing the suffering, the book is very immersive and Anne’s depictions of her everyday life in the Annex is relatable to teens her age, and yet so unbelievable because of the conditions she was forced to live under. For example, she included a list of clothes she would like to buy after the war, but instead of like today's teens, she couldn’t just go out and buy the clothes for possibly years. I found myself growing with Anne through every diary entry as she recalled her past and hoped for the future. The reader gets the experience of learning
