According to Anne Frank herself, ¨I hope Kitty [Anne’s imaginary friend] that I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.” Anne Frank wrote this passage in her diary before World War II. She wrote this before Hitler invaded the Netherlands. Previous to the war, Anne’s only problems were school, stress, and girl drama. Little did she know that much more troubling times were ahead of her. Prior to World War II, the Frank Family lived ordinary lives, but during the war, they impacted the Holocaust. First of all, Ottoman Frank, the father of Anne Frank, started his life. Next, after the Margot (Anne’s older sister) and Anne Frank were born, the Frank family was complete. Last but not least, the Frank family had started to feel safe once again in Amsterdam, but they did not know what was to …show more content…

After high school, Frank spent a summer studying art in the University of Heidelberg. Then Frank began studying economics. After that Otto got an opportunity to work in Macy’s Department store. After his experience in Macy’s department store, Otto decided to open a few companies of his own. “Frank would further exhibit business experience, by starting the Opteka company……...then he would set up another company, Petacon.” (Otto Frank biography 1) After this, when World War I started, Frank got a job in selling horseshoes there. “The Diary of a Young Girl” written in letters by Anne Frank, is particularly interesting to teenagers and middle schoolers because of how real the book is. As the entries were written by someone experiencing the suffering, the book is very immersive and Anne’s depictions of her everyday life in the Annex is relatable to teens her age, and yet so unbelievable because of the conditions she was forced to live under. For example, she included a list of clothes she would like to buy after the war, but instead of like today's teens, she couldn’t just go out and buy the clothes for possibly years. I found myself growing with Anne through every diary entry as she recalled her past and hoped for the future. The reader gets the experience of learning…

There are many interesting parts throughout a nonfiction work of writing; the most interesting piece of information I learned while reading Anne Frank’s, The Diary of a Young Girl, was how Anne managed to accept her difficult life while staying positive. For example, Anne understood the problems from the war: “...we really ought to save every penny, to help other people, and save what is left from the wreckage after the war” (64). In spite of the fact that Anne dealt through problems with her family, she still strived to comfort others during the war. Comparatively, Anne exclaimed, “It is really true that as the news from outside gets worse, so the radio with its miraculous voice helps us to keep up our morale and to say again, ‘Chins…

The van Daan's son peter knocked over a lamp when he heard the robber and not only it scared away the robber but also allowed him to know there were people in the attic.
