Anne Frank, the author of “The Diary of a Young Girl”, was 13 years old when she started to write her diary. Annelies Marie Frank was born into the family with the parents, Otto and Edith Frank on June 12, 1929 in the ancient city of Frankfurt, Germany. Sadly, because of the family being sent away to the camps, Anne died at the age of 16 at Lower Saxony, Germany. The purpose of writing “The Diary of a Young Girl” was to inform about how life was about 75 years ago. Some historical sides to this novel is when the Jewish people had to wear a gold star and it had Jude written in the middle. Also, there were camps where Hitler would take the Jews and they would suffer. The perspectives are the author, Anne Frank, and the book itself. When Anne …show more content…
According to the novel, “The Diary of a Young Girl”, on page 1, “I got masses from Mummy and Daddy, and then was thoroughly spoiled by various friends.” This quote tells the reader about Anne’s life and how much money her family has. According to the journal entry written on Wednesday, 23 February, 1944, on page 158, it states, “From my favorite spot on the floor I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine, appearing like silver, and at the seagulls and other birds as they glide on the wind.” Again, Anne writes about this tree on Tuesday, 18 April, 1944 on page 213, “Our chestnut is already quite greenish and you can even see little blooms here and there.” This chestnut tree Anne tells the reader about, becomes a measure of the seasons and a sign of the passing of time. Also, the nature’s renewal of powers. Next, for the journal entry written on Saturday, 15 July, 1944 on page 264, “I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.” This quote tells the reader that whenever Anne looks up at the sky, she has a feeling that everything …show more content…
Anne Frank wrote this book, wanting to tell the audience about her life. Anne has matured so much during the time they had to stay in the annex. Just from reading her diary, it has seemed that she definitely had the potential of becoming a challenging writer. Another character would be Otto Frank. He was not only Anne’s father, but in Anne’s eyes, he was the kindest, smartest, most thoughtful and gentle father she ever even thought about. Third, Edith Frank, Anne’s mother. In Anne’s eyes, Edith is a very cold hearted, crucial person, and doesn’t know how to show love for her children. These three characters all relate to one another because they are all family. They were together while the war was carrying on. The conflict would be man v society because the conflict of “The Diary of a Young Girl” is that the Nazis are taking over and the Franks and other families have to go into in hiding. The first rising action would be The Franks and the Van Danns hide in the secret annex. Second, Anne and Peter become very good friends and have long conversations. Lastly, Mr. Van Dann was stealing food. The climax is when the Green Police knock on the door where the Franks and the Van Danns were hiding. The first falling action is when the people hiding heard people coming up the stairs. Next, the two families had to pack up their stuff to leave. The resolution happened when they were all
