Anne Frank Traits

Improved Essays
There are many different traits found in each character of The Diary of Anne Frank that are easy to relate to, but I feel that I can relate to Anne Frank’s the most. One trait that Anne and I have in common is we tend to see the good in things. I show this trait when I see the good in someone even after they’ve given me many reasons not to. Anne portrays this trait when she doesn’t want to throw away her Star of David because she still feels there is good in it even after all the misery it has put her through. Another trait that Anne and I share is we snap when we’ve had enough. For me, this happens in a lot of different occasions, but one example is when the boys in my grade tell me that girls aren’t as good as them. For Anne, this happens

Eleanor Roosevelt once said that Annes Frank’s story made her “intimately and shockingly aware of war’s greatest evil -- the degradation of human spirit. At the same time, Anne Frank’s diary makes it poignantly clear the ultimate shining nobility of that spirit.” Anne Frank’s diary shows the degradation of the human spirit in many ways. First, the people living in the secret annex are constantly fearing that the Nazis are going to capture them and bring them to a concentration camp. They are not able to enjoy life because they are always on the lookout for The Green Police.…

In literature, a complex character is a person comprised of a variety of traits and different sides to their personality. Anne Frank is an excellent example of a complex character. Throughout the play version of “The Diary of Anne Frank,” Anne, although lively, talkative, stubborn, intelligent, and optimistic, also expresses seriousness, sensitivity, and maturity beyond her years. She possesses a tendency to quickly change her behavior, as stated in the stage directions. “She is thirteen, quick in her movements, interested in everything, mercurial in her emotions.”…

Anne was born June 12, 1929 of course she was not born into the War with Nazis after her family, better yet she didn't know anything about them until the year of 1942. Anne Frank is only one of the Jews there were many, but she is the most famous Jew from this time. Anne stayed with seven others in the secret annex for more than two years. I think Anne Frank is a hero because she a patient, strong, and unselfish young lady. I think she helped the world understand what she went through during this time.…

After a while of being trapped in the Secret Annex, Anne Frank feels that she is slowly becoming a “dried-up old beanstalk” (Frank 125). She also begins to develop hatred for the adults living with her in the Secret Annex, “Why do grownups quarrel so easily, so much, and over the most idiotic things?” (29). She feels that every day, all the adults do is plain bickering. “Nothing, I repeat, nothing about me is right; my general appearance, my character, my manners are discussed from A to Z.” (29) These “helpful criticism” come shooting out of Mrs. Van Daan’s mouth daily, and they are simply irritating and unbearable for Anne.…

Reading about Anne Frank’s life certainly has changed my own in a large number of ways. Reading entries from the play and seeing the movie version affected myself by giving a different perspective on someone’s life experience, like how the Germans judged the Jews, but in the movie when the officers figured out about Anne and everybody in the annex they were rushing them to pack and to leave. But when Mr. Frank was getting his suitcase the officer asked him what was in it and how he had it since it was an army trunk, then Mr. Frank explained that he was in the army and the officer told him “why didn’t you say anything, you could have gotten out of this,” and then told him to take his time packing, this just shows that so many people are getting…

Anne, her family, and the van Daans lived in constant fear of being discovered but found strength in each other. In this instance, Anne wrote, “I could go on for hours about all the…

Leigh Anne identifies a strength in Michael which is that he isn’t some aggressive, scary, and mean person. She sees him as a gentle, nice, and very caring person who has nothing going well in his life. Others see as some big scary guy and feel unsafe and maybe uncomfortable when he is around them. In the movie she sees Michael talking to her son and that shows her that he isn’t a scary guy, but that he is nice and caring person, which makes her curious about Michael.…

Good or Evil Do you think people are good at heart? Anne Frank did. Despite going in hiding for two and a half years and being placed into a concentration camp, she still believed people deserved forgiveness because everyone was kind at heart. Everyone, from terrorists to ISIS, from businessmen to teachers, they all posses some sliver of decency in their souls. No matter what a person does, deep down everyone is still respectable at heart; this is clearly shown by Anne’s life, society as a whole, and what we read in the bible.…
