The Girl in Hiding
Anne Frank once said, “I don't think of all the misery, but of all the beauty that still remains.” Many people know Anne Frank as a girl who wrote a diary about Hitler, but she did more. She always saw the bright side of things, so she taught the world how to be positive during negative times. She also helped America learn about Hitler and what he did and how one little girl can stand up against a whole army of men. Anne Frank has a legacy for staying strong and writing a diary while hiding in an attic, therefore she is known as the girl in hiding. She was a very ill and fragile kid. She was always coming down with the flu or a cold. Anne missed so many days of school because of her illness, she was forced to do a grade all over again. When Hitler took over she was forced to go to the concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen. Anne got sick with Typhus and died in March 1945 (Biography.com). Anne was only 15 years old when she died (Biography.com). Unfortunately, she died only a few weeks before British soldiers liberated the camp she was in. S Anne lived a life of optimism. happiness, and fear from 1929-1945 (World Book, 229). There are many books and movies on her life. She wrote in it from 1942 and 1944 during the holocaust (Muller i). In her diary she wrote to her imaginary friend Kitty. She got this “friend” from a book. She wished the main character of the book was her friend and wrote to her in the diary. Anne’s diary was published by Otto Frank in 1947 (Muller, 318). After being took from the annex, Miep Gies found her diary and gave it to Otto Frank. After the war he published it.
