time.Most people enjoy the thrill and amusement of the game of Hide and Seek, but what if one had to to hide in order to save their own life, well that's what Annelies Marie Frank, commonly known as Anne Frank, had to do. Anne was born on, June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne was known to be most famous for her diary which was later published and named, The Diary of a Young Girl. The book states Anne’s experience during her time in the war to when Anne, her family, and the others she hid with were all arrested and deported to concentration camps. Anne’s story was just one of the many of men, women, and children who had been persecuted in the Holocaust.

In fact “Margot Frank also kept a diary, but it was never found” (history.com 2017). Anne had a childhood like any other upper-middle class family, her father was a World War I lieutenant who later became a very successful businessman in the Netherlands, a place that will prove to be very important later. After the war Edith and Otto settled down and had two daughters, Margot and Anne. In the year 1934 Anne had moved to Amsterdam with the rest of her family. Five years later Adolf Hitler comes to power and the Nazis seek control on many areas throughout Europe, including the Netherlands. In the years 1942 Anne had received a diary, which will later become her signature icon for years to come.
