Do you think people are good at heart? Anne Frank did. Despite going in hiding for two and a half years and being placed into a concentration camp, she still believed people deserved forgiveness because everyone was kind at heart. Everyone, from terrorists to ISIS, from businessmen to teachers, they all posses some sliver of decency in their souls. No matter what a person does, deep down everyone is still respectable at heart; this is clearly shown by Anne’s life, society as a whole, and what we read in the bible. When Anne Frank was alive, she was not living like your average teenager. Because she stayed true to her faith, she was forced to wear a felt yellow star on her clothing, as if it was a badge of shame. It only got worse from there. When God flooded the earth, it was because the inhabitants hearts were wicked. If our hearts truly had nothing good left in them, then why are we still standing here, why would God, in all his power and glory, not strike us down where we stand? The answer is because we have good in our hearts. Some boast than others, however we all have some form of morality in our souls. It makes us human, as well as moves us closer to God. When Anne Frank said those words, she didn’t know how much of an impact they would produce. People have questioned her quote time and time again but the way she lives her life shows that if she can live by those words, anyone can. Society today and even the Word of God himself reflects on the fact that people are good at heart. If we truly have faith in the fact that people are wicked at heart, then what is stopping us from being insolent and barbaric to the people around us? Why should we care if we hurt others or did immoral things? Having goodness in our hearts is essential to living the way Christ
