In the play The Diary of Anne Frank, we learn about life in the secret annex, and how many restrictions there were on their daily lives. “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart,” is a famous quote around the world today that came from Anne Frank. . She probably felt this way seeing that so many different people had done kind and nice acts for her throughout her lifetime, and it is hard to believe people could be so cruel and ignorant. The Nazis had treated this poor girl so carelessly, but yet she still believed people were truly great at heart. Anne was just a teenager going through these tough times hiding from the cruel Nazis. She had a charming, cunning personality. Her family, as well as one other family and a single man, all stayed in the secret annex together for two years. This was a struggle for Anne having no one her age to confide in and talk to, so she wrote in a diary. The diary held all her inside thoughts and feelings about what was going on in the outside world. After the German soldiers swept away the Frank family, Miep found Anne’s diary lying …show more content…
“But Peter, if you’d only look at it as part of a great pattern...that we’re just a few minutes in life…,” is another quote of Anne Frank on the night the Nazis captured them. Anne knows this is just a part of life, and she is aware that this has happened before in history, and she knows there will be a time when the war is over, but until then she just needs to keep her head held high and keeps her hopes up. She always thought about the good things, not about her friends beign taken away or places she used to go being burned down. That’s all Anne had, she could just dream and imagine what life would be like after the war, and all the wonderful experiences she could enjoy doing once
