The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is a novel written by her during her experience during World War II and the Holocaust. The readers of this story are able to understand and have a better perspective of what Jews went through. The diary begins on June, 14, 1942, which was two days after Anne Frank turned thirteen. She was fourteen when she went into hiding. She hide in a secret annex in Amsterdam for about more than two years. Her family, another family and a dentist hid in their fathers office behind a bookcase. The only thing seperating them from that the outside world was the bookcase. On August 4th, 1944 she and the others were discovered. All of them got reported and deported to a concentration camp. Anne died from typhus diease

Anne still gives strength and hope to people through her writings. She showed that people could retain faith in the people who are even trying to harm them, emphasizing the Nazi leadrs. She spread the message of tolerance and forgiveness. She showed the world that hate and violence can't stop the good in the world and to never lose faith in that good. For example, “Parents only can give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.” (Frank 87) This concludes that your parents are involved on the person you become, but also you’re mostly in control. Her mindset is what the repression from overtaking her. Even though she had people she knew dying and getting taken away, she promotes to make your own decisions in your life.
Anne struggled to cope with everything going around her and never felt comfortable with what was going on. Her crowded annex was unsanitary and she didn’t have much privacy. Also her body was constantly changing and she didn’t have many people to talk to. This connects back to the isolation and repression that went on throughout the diary.
One of the parts in Anne Frank's diary reveals her inspiration for her writing. For exmaple, she asks herself “will I ever become a journalist or a writer? I hope so, oh, I hope so very much, because writing allows me to record everything, all my thoughts, ideals and fantasies” on page 91, written on April 5,
