Anne Frank: Are People Really Good At Heart

People are always charming around others, but if one sees the greater picture of another’s intentions, their view might change on that individual. Anne Frank once said, “In spite of everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.” Ms. Frank has been through a lot during her childhood, and it is very surprising to hear her say those words after what Adolf Hitler did to her and her family. Once Adolf Hitler rose to power, situations got worse for certain social groups, especially for the Jewish. He began to throw them into concentration camps and execute most of them. For instance, the play states, “It isn’t yours… So go on, ruin it… I could kill you for this. I could just kill you!” This is what Mrs. Van Daan says after Anne spilled milk on her special coat. Yes, Mrs. Van Daan just truly loves her father, but she needs to realize that Anne is young, and it was irrelevant for her to make that rude remark. Furthermore the play states, “Dussel: A nightmare. She was having a nightmare. Mr. Van Daan: I thought someone was murdering her. Dussel: Unfortunately, no.” Yet again, another adult has made an insulting assertion towards a naive teenager, which was also very unnecessary. If Mr. Dussel really had kindness in his heart, he would have thought twice about commenting. In conclusion, some will seem very cruel on the outside and kind hearted on the inside, but occasionally it is not
